Customers of Manila Water Company (MWC) will pay less for consumption starting next month following regulatory approval of a quarterly adjustment to a charge that covers foreign exchange fluctuations.
The downward adjustment for the water tariff was a result of the quarterly review of foreign currency differential adjustment (FCDA), a tariff mechanism that takes into accounts gains and losses resulting from the payment of Manila Water’s loans and borrowings.
There will be a reduction of 1.14% or PHP 0.31/cu.m. on the current basic water charge of PHP 28.29/cu.m.
This means that customers consuming 30 cu.m. the average monthly consumption of Manila Water residential customers will have to pay PHP 618.22 from PHP 625.23 every month.
